Dr Chen Qiping Dermatologist

Dr Chen is a Consultant Dermatologist who specialises in skin cancers and pigmentary disorders. She also practises in the fields of general dermatology, surgical dermatology, lasers and cosmetic dermatology.

Prior to private practice, Dr Chen was a Consultant Dermatologist at the National Skin Centre and a Visiting Consultant Dermatologist at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. Dr Chen is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Dermatology). She is also a member of Dermatological Society of Singapore, Asian Society of Paediatric Dermatology and International Society of Paediatric Dermatology.

Dr Chen graduated from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University and completed her residency training in China before her overseas training. She received the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates certificate after passing the United States Medical Licensing Examination. She obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK). After completion of her Basic Specialist Training in Internal Medicine in Singapore, she started her dermatology training as an Advanced Specialist Trainee in Dermatology at the National Skin Centre in 2012 and became a Ministry of Health accredited dermatologist in 2015.

Dr Chen has extensive research experience in basic and clinical science. She was a research scholar and obtained her Master of Science from the National University of Singapore. She also received Singapore Millennium Scholarship and research followship from A*star and had comprehensive experience in molecular biology, cell biology and human embryonic stem cell. She completed her research fellowship in the University of Michigan. She has published numerous research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and presented her research works in many dermatology or research conferences. Dr Chen also co-authored English books and Chinese books on dermatology.

Dr Chen is also active in education. She was a clinical tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, the National University of Singapore and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University. She has been interviewed by TV health programs, radio talk-shows and newspapers to contribute to public education on skin diseases and skin care.

Outside of work, Dr Chen is a gardening enthusiast.
